We look forward to the Kindergarten Round Up events our district plans each year as we welcome new families and our youngest learners. Their excitement as they begin their kindergarten journey is a great reminder of the positive impact of being an educator at Port Huron Schools. We are literally shaping lives. A great start to the K-12 journey is critical and our teams are ready to welcome your child.
We have so many specialized and distinct opportunities throughout our district. For example, the Literacy Academy at Cleveland offers a unique approach to a reading-focused curriculum. Wings, Etc. Grill & Pub in Port Huron is sponsoring our take home reading kits this year for students who need additional resources to foster their reading growth. We are so proud of our generous community sponsors like the owners of Wings, Etc. that support our students and their success.
Our STEAM programming throughout the district is truly prestigious and as students progress in these classes, their ability to interact with real industry employers such as P.J. Wallbank Springs, Inc. and McLaren Port Huron are great partnership opportunities for career pathways. In fact, our partnership programming has been acknowledged as exemplary in education innovation. Just this month, we welcomed a contingency from South Redford School District, eager to learn more about our success in this approach.
